‘(De)Formation’
4x:
januari 8, 15, 22 en 29.
Prijs:
€ 66,-
‘(De)Formation’ In these classes, we will explore movement and composition of the human body through a surrealistic lens. How can we become aware of our physical habits, limits, and assumptions—(de)form them—and discover a new moving body? What stories emerge in Bio Annabel Koele Annabel Koele (1996) is a performer, mimer, dancer and maker, creating physical
that transformation?
This is a practice grounded in improvisation and choice-making. Through heightened awareness of our physical tendencies, we challenge ourselves to move beyond the familiar and into the unknown. Often, this unknown proves less uncomfortable than expected. As we move, dance, and sweat, we will introduce the layer of performative presence.
By feeding the imagination and observing its impact on our movement, we may uncover new ways of being in space. This is a process of constant renewal—letting go of associations, reshaping reality, and playing together in a world of our own making with a sense of lightness, humor and curiosity.
performances in which she challenges time and reality. After graduating as a dancer at Codarts University in Rotterdam in 2017 and having worked as a dancer in various projects throughout Europe, she has continued her search for physical performance at the Mime Opleiding in Amsterdam. By focussing on bringing both disciplines together, she creates physical work that switches between bodily sculptures and dance performance.
She is curious to find new ways of using the instrument of the body for creating surrealistic and absurd images that become stories. Coming from a family of musicians and artists, one of her biggest inspirations and fuels for creating is music and visual art. These sources are translated towards composition and a sense of musicality and timing which makes you question your perception of time, space, and the human body.
Annabel’s solo performance MAGNITUDE was selected by Via Rudolphi for a national tour in 2024. At the same time, she received the Top Naeff Prize in recognition of her development as a physical performer and maker.
Bettina Neuhaus
‘Bodies in Space, Spaces in Motion’
4x:
februari 5, 12, 19 en 26.
Prijs:
€ 66,-
‘Bodies in Space, Spaces in Motion’.
This course explores the close connection and fascinating coordination between our movement and spatial perception as a fundamental element of dancing and making improvised pieces
Using the breath, the joints or interior pathways as an entry into moving connects us to the spatial nature of our body, its volume, weight and buoyancy. With an increasing awareness for our inner bodily landscape, we also perceive our relationship with the surrounding space more easily. Noticing how the different facets of the space inspire our actions, enriches the way how we move and listen to the material we create.
The practice focusses on dancing as a way to expand one’s spatial abilities such as orientation, spatial imagination and responsiveness. The aim is to experience space as an inherent element of the dancing body and to compose with it when making dances.

She holds an MA from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London.
With a growing interest in ecology and our entanglement with the world, she has been developing a movement practice in natural environments since 2010, which she shares in projects and special workshops. Alongside her artistic work, she teaches SRT and Instant Composition at studios, dance colleges and universities across Europe.

‘Do Undo’
3x:
maart 5, 12 en 19.
Prijs:
€ 49,-
‘Do Undo’
Welcome to a movement research, performance and improvisation workshop that celebrates unpredictability and keeps evolving through play and trust, without shying away from making mistakes.
The aim of this workshop is to inspire joy by daring to engage, to dance and to create with what is unfamiliar within ourselves, in our relations with others, in the environment and times we live in. To ask questions about the obvious, the comfortable, and the habitual, embracing the vulnerability and resistance that might arise, and to celebrate a shared space of mutual trust, with the permission to try, to fail, and to fail better – keeping alive an adventurous spirit.
Through dance Maria wishes to honour the body in all forms and ways it is or is perceived to be.

‘Poëzie in de Ruimte’
6x:
maart 26,
april 2, 9,16, 23 en 30.
Prijs:
€ 99,-
“Space is a hidden feature of movement and movement is a visible aspect of space.” Rudolf Laban

‘Intentional-Efficiency’
The Intentional-Efficiency Method, developed by Isabelle Chaffaud, is a practice that explores the profound connection between clear inner intention and the diverse qualities and textures of movement it generates.
This method places a strong emphasis on cultivating awareness and recognizing the vital role of the body’s efficiency and articulation in supporting and effectively conveying intention.
It embraces an approach that allows for the individual exploration and development of each aspect—intention and efficiency—while highlighting their interconnectedness.
By embodying clarity in both intention and efficiency, this holistic approach allows for the flourishing of intrinsic expressiveness.
It acknowledges and celebrates the uniqueness of each individual, providing a beautiful pathway to connect with the others and gain clarity in communication.
In Dansdrift classes, Isabelle will place special emphasis on applying this method in contact improvisation and composition forms.
